Los volúmenes de 1862 y 1863 incluyen el Catálogo de la Exposición International de 1862 en Londres, con numerosas ilustraciones y descripción de los objetos expuestos.

Encuadernación: media piel y puntas, cantos superiores en oro y lomos con nervios, título, año y dorados. Firma manuscrita del anterior propietario.

These large quarto volumes offer a comprehensive contemporaneous overview of the mid-nineteenth-century art world, with emphasis on the British art scene. Includes articles and many, many illustrations, with impressively realized full-page engraved plates”.

“The London publisher George Virtue purchased the Art Union Monthly Journal in 1848 and renamed the periodical, The Art Journal, in 1849. The Art Journal ceased publicación in 1912”. An American edition of The Art Journal was published in New York from 1881 to 1887 by D. Appleton & Co.
